According to a study by RivalIQ, the median engagement rates across all industries on TikTok are at an impressive 2.63%. For specific niches, it stands at 1.80% for retail, 1.41% for fashion, 1.91% for home decor, and a whopping 3.5% for travel.
These numbers make TikTok an exciting prospect for e-commerce entrepreneurs and digital marketers. Comparing TikTok's engagement rate to Facebook's engagement per post, which sits at a mere 0.063%, and Instagram's at 0.43%, this video social network is dancing circles around the competition.
We've packed this post with tips, strategies, and examples to help you create high-converting ads in 2024. But it's so much easier to talk about tips and tricks with actual samples.

Have you ever found yourself wrestling with a stubborn jar lid or battling a splattering sauté pan like it’s the final boss in a video game? You’re not alone! Everyone spends time in the kitchen, and we've all encountered pesky little problems that turn gourmet dreams into kitchen nightmares.
Enter the viral kitchen items – the knights in shining armor ready to swoop in and save the day. From nifty gadgets that cut your prep time in half to genius hacks that make cooking as easy as pie (or should we say, as easy as pre-sliced pie?), these items tap into universally relatable pain points. It's no wonder they become instant hits on TikTok.
Trust us, these products aren’t just solving problems; they’re also raking in the dough, making them some of the most profitable dropship items out there.
For this sample, I'll be using the Top Creatives tab and then the Advanced Search tool.
Narrowing down to just the United States combined with either "kitchen gadgets" or "kitchen finds" for ad text. I'll also have it sorted in Descending order based on Views.
Here's what we had under the results.
The top ones are from Amazon, so I skipped that. While it would give us great ideas, let's look for a video that doesn't come with a brand so that the brand recall does not influence the audience's response to the video itself. I scrolled down until I found a pretty good list, which is what's shown above.
I took a look at the first product, which was something like an alternative to a steel wool for cleaning pots.
It's a Spark Ad (learn more about Spark ads and other types of TikTok Ads here) and it has generated over 292 thousand views in a span of 18 days. If you look at the hashtags the advertiser used, you'll see "kitchenhacks," which could be a great keyword to try when searching for other viral kitchen stuff.
Under the analytics tab, you can see that it had a consistent daily ad performance. It also gets more than 200 shares a day. That's a lot of extra views for the video!
While the impressions count took a dip and rose again, it is evident that now that it has gained enough traction, the advertiser can now pause the ad and let the organic shares and views do their thing.

As you may notice, nobody even talks. It just shows how the product is used, plus some trending music. It's a generic video with no advertiser watermarks, so you can download this video and use it for your own promotion.
The advertiser uses TikTok Shop for its e-commerce platform. They call the item the Multi-Purpose Wire Cleaning Cloth.
Let's go ahead and look for this product from dropship sources. I went over to the Anstrex Dropship tool.
Ok, now here at the Dropship App, head over to the Product Catalog, and then use the search function. I searched for "wire cleaning cloth" since these words make the most sense in describing the product without having to write the whole product title from the advertiser's page.
I also opted to show results in descending order based on Orders for the Past 90 days. If you want to show where dropshipping stores have been buying the past month or two, you can choose to show number of orders for the past 30 or 60 days.

All the videos shown in these ads have minimal talking and more showing. Also, if something needs to be said, they are shown in text on the video itself. Make full use of this feature!
With all the cleverness of a fox in a henhouse, TikTok advertisers are tapping into our tech-infused woes and transforming them into sales gold.
These savvy marketers have pinpointed our everyday frustrations—from tangled cables and low battery anxiety to the curse of forever-lost TV remotes—as golden opportunities. They craft videos that showcase innovative tech solutions in action, often without uttering a single word.
Instead, they let the gadgets do the talking, demonstrating their magic with captivating visuals and catchy tunes. It's a strategy that plays directly into our weaknesses, making us wonder how we ever lived without these tech marvels.
Another subcategory that's performing well for tech products is impulse buys. These are items that you don't really need, but upon seeing videos, you are compelled to buy.
And, before we know it, we've clicked 'add to cart' faster than you can say "viral sensation."
Now, to find viral tech gadgets, we use our spy tool once again. We narrow down the search with these settings:

And has a popularity of less than 5,000. While you can always search for those higher, I found that those with higher popularity are brands. Since we're focusing on dropship items, I figured less than 5k would be a good popularity.
You can niche down results by adding specific terms. Like if you want to focus on gaming-related gadgets, you can add pcgaming or gamingsetup or cozygamingsetup.
Let's add that to this search. Here's what we came up with:
Let's look at the really cool astronaut starry night projector. We'll be choosing this one because, on the long list of results, we've seen this item promoted by various advertisers. This means it's widely available and is not branded.
Based on the details of the ad, the advertiser is using Shopify, which is another great sign that it's a dropship item.
You can also find clues from their landing page:
It also has a pretty nice like rate at 1.2%, considering most e-commerce products fall at less than 1%. Checking the Analytics page, we see good ad performance during its entire run.

It shows the viewer how to use the item and see the nice projected stars in a room. The item is also
If you want to use the same video, I suggest checking through the rest of the results since the video from this advertiser (though pretty generic) has a watermark on it. I saw several other videos for the same product anyway—another great sign that it's a dropship product.
Let's go and search for this product in the Dropship App. I used the basic search and typed in "astronaut projector."
There are more than 3 dozen results, which means you'll surely be able to find several suppliers. The prices vary from $5 to $13. Most of these suppliers get 20 to 100 orders of this item on a daily basis. It's a pretty good number to go by.
Is it a great item to dropship? Definitely!
